Christoph Seibert

I've been a researcher at Fraunhofer IAIS since 2006 after acquiring my diploma in computer science at the University of Bonn. I had already written my thesis at Fraunhofer on the topic of automatic logo detection in images. My approach was based on the Viola/Jones face detector, enhancing it with colour image support and evaluating the impact on logo detection performance.

As a researcher at IAIS, I continued working with the Viola/Jones approach, applying it to action detection in video sequences by extending the basic features to include temporal relations between frames. This work was used in the EU-funded project BOEMIE.

I have since turned my attention to document analysis and archiving. I am currently responsible for several digitization projects with newspaper publishers and for the continued development of our page archive software.
